We are looking for a people centric Data Management Operations Leader to help us drive our data transformation, bringing extensive experience and energy to steering our digital business organisation. Our diverse Data & Analytics team is growing, as we are driving a data revolution to enable our business transformation.

We are looking for someone to join our team who has passion for collaborating with others to secure implementation of our data framework, policies, and ways of working to secure data as an enterprise resource for the company. This includes playing an active role in implementing data management in evolving business models, establishment of collaborative governance and management of data, and implementing tactics that steer towards our data-driven future. You believe well-managed data is key enabler of growth, advanced analytics, business opportunities and exploration, as well as compliance. We need someone to play a big role in implementing and operationalizing our strategic objectives to make this transformation – bringing things from idea to reality across the globe and in our central digital team.

And carrying a backpack with:

· experience of turning data management strategies and frameworks into operational plans, supporting the team to drive change with speed, passion, and end user in focus

· experience driving data management transformation on an enterprise level, with experience in ERP environments as well as with master data management in a modern digital product organisation with autonomous teams and decentralised governance

· extensive experience of increasing responsibility in leadership roles in large organisations working with information technology, business information management, and data management

· an education in information technology, business, information systems, engineering, legal, finance, economics, or equivalent (at least BS)

· extensive knowledge of IT and data systems, and the constantly changing tools enabling use and management of large amounts of data

· good knowledge of data privacy regulations across the globe, including trends and upcoming legislative agenda items

You will have a great role in revolutionizing ways for IKEA to interact with our customers, putting data and analytics at the heart of all that we do, and finding new business opportunities across the company. You will lead a team of data management professionals to ensure data is actively managed across the lifecycle, meets business needs, and is optimized across the enterprise – with focus on data as a key enabler in business operations, enabling advanced analytics, and unleashing innovation with data.

Every day will be different, but you can expect that most of your time will be spent on the following:

· ensuring efficient and effective use of data across our value chain to improve business outcomes with data and information end-to-end

· building trust and collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to secure a common and aligned view on data

· enthusiastically helping others learn and adapt to new ways of working, including selling in new requirements and benefits of changes, especially related to managing and optimising the value of data

· developing and leading team of data management professionals to secure competence development, understanding of IKEA's core business areas, and maximum efficiency in collaboration as a high-performing team

· maintaining a holistic overview of data management performance across the enterprise and identify priority areas of opportunity and risk

· improving, implementing, and following up strategies and tactics for data management/governance frameworks and a data maturity model that are in line with IKEA values and business strategies to manage data

· actively supporting implementation of comprehensive approach to manage data across the total lifecycle, from collection to deletion/archiving to ensure consistent approach in business processes and analytics

· contributing to the development, implementation, and management of enforcement mechanisms and control structures for ensuring policies, processes, and standards are followed for data across IKEA

· promoting optimal data usage to enable business and value creation

· enabling the development and implementation of wider data management training approach for IKEA, including enabling all co-workers to become more data literate


As part of IKEA’s journey to strengthen our digital capabilities, we are building a Data & Analytics function. You will be part of the Data Enablement Center of Expertise in our Data & Analytics organisation, together with other leaders, specialists, and operational teams. We are all focused on securing an end-to-end approach for data across the entire IKEA value chain.

We play an important part for our customer facing business, where autonomous teams are focused on delivering business outcomes, and data being the foundation. We support our friends in Finance, Legal and HR. We collaborate closely with architecture, privacy, cybersecurity, and many others. This is a role about bringing people and technology together to drive a data transformation!
